"it's in the eye of the beholder" I use this saying as a motto, because it is true. Only the person looking at something can decide what that certain something means to him or her. No one else can tell them how that image will affect them emotionally, psychologically, or physically. It can bring joy, happiness, love. It can bring sorrow and pain. That is what art is meant to do. It is not how technically correct it is. Or how "by the book" it is. It is something that the artist himself has found or poured into the work, that they hope will bring out a similar response from the buyer.
